Parents/carers who are claiming benefits (but not child benefit as it is a universal grant)can apply to the Education Trust for a small grant to help with uniform (£30 per primary child, £50 per secondary child, with a maximum per family of £100).  The application letter is available from the school office or on our school website.  It is self explanatory and parents will need to send in the completed application along with a copy of a current benefits letter for the Education Trust and Finance to approve. The closing date is the end of August.  Please be aware that this form needs to be sent back to the Shirehall.  This is a grant provided by the Local Authority and not the school.

The school aims to help parents understand that the school, like all others, has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils.  The school may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a pupil’s welfare.

Did you know that the Shrewsbury Food Hub delivers food to our school every week? The Food Hub's volunteers pick up surplus food like bread, fruit and veg that the supermarkets can’t sell but is still perfectly good to eat and deliver it to non-profit groups in town.  We use the food in breakfast club, after school club, for extra snacks at breaktime and for cooking in school.

The Hub really makes a difference: it saves us money and is helping to cut down Shropshire's food waste and to conserve our planet's natural resources.

The Hub is looking for more volunteers to help distribute food.

To find out more about what they do,  please visit their website, like their facebook page and if you would like to get involved give them a ring on 07972 858313.
